Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center – SMYRC

SMYRC offers culturally-specific support for LGBTQIA2S+ youth

Here at SMYRC, we provide a safe, harassment-free space for queer and trans youth ages 13-23. At SMYRC you can create art, play music, and join in on our open mic nights, drag shows, and support groups. You can also receive services like counseling, school support, and much more. Whatever you are looking for, we are here to honor, empower, and support you.

Additional Services We Provide

We also offer mental health support services. A Cascadia Behavioral Health LGBTQ Mental Health Specialist is available for appointments for SMYRC participants outside of the SMYRC space.

If you want to register for counseling please fill out a form at https://cascadiabhc.org/cair_form/ and request “Adrien Wolmark (they/them)” in the “other” section. Please select “Garlington Health Center” as the “preferred location.”

Bridge 13 Community Education

Thank you for reaching out to Bridge 13 Community Education, a program of the Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC).

Although our goal is to support all places in creating a safer and more affirming space for all LGBT2IA2S+ individuals in our community, at the moment we are pausing our training as we have recently experienced some staff transitions. Please bear with us as we intentionally hire and on-board new Bridge Community Educators over the next couple months to help meet our community’s education needs.

If you would like to leave your contact information and fill out our interest form with some details of what you’re looking for, we will try to get back in touch with you when capacity has increased again. Interest form: http://goo.gl/forms/Maa9k7YJOX
